More often than not, a healing wound leaves behind an ugly scar that can make you uncomfortable about your looks. However, the Jefferson University Hospitals reports that laser treatment can reduce “the appearance of scars by 50 to 80 percent and help prevent a recurrence.”
According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), dermatologic surgery (concerned with the health of the skin) is on the rise. The ASDS reported that 12 million dermatologic procedures were performed in 2017. This number was twice the number of procedures performed in 2012 and 10% more than in 2016 (Source).

The ASPS indicates that lip enhancement uptake has increased since 2000 to the extent that someone gets their lips enhanced every 19 minutes in the U.S. (Source). According to a survey conducted by ASPS, most of the 1000 respondents named Jennifer Lawrence, Scarlet Johnson, and Jennifer Garner when asked which celebrity lips they aspired to have. Other popular names included Angelina Jolie, Lisa Rinna, Beyoncé, and Kylie Jenner (Source).
